Help us choose a baby name
It seems more dificult to come-up with a boy’s name than a girl’s name.
So I asked our 3 daughters: Jessica (12), Alexandra (10) and Sophie (7) what their favorite boy’s names were.
Eventually they came up with 10 names.
Jessica chose:
- Christopher
- Daniel
- Vladimir (I don’t know where she got this one from!)
Alexandra chose:
- Jaden (this is apparently a character in Yu Gi Oh)
- Demitri
Sophie chose:
- Anthony
- Nicholas
- Michael
- Joseph
- Aaron
What is your favorite name?
Please leave a comment below and let me know which name you prefer or add one of your own.
Mike Hughes
Nicholas

Vladimir Putin was the President of Russia. A;so an X heavyweight Russian Boxer was named Vladimir. Does your daughter study Russian at school, or is she a Boxing fan? I think DeJuan is a kool and unusual name.

When you name a Baby you also give that baby its new purpose in Life.
My Suggestions for baby naming are as follows:
a] look in your families for a deceased relative or 2 whom you respect and honor because of their character traits.
b] go to your public library [or the internet] and get a book on Child Names with the meaning behind the name …
For example – Gabriel [boy] or Gabriella [Girl] means G-d is Strong

Since you have 3 girls, I still think this boy should be named after you. So, Michael, Jr. or if you have a middle name, then Michael ______, Jr.

Hi Mike,
I like Daniel as the Hebrew name in the Bible means “God is my Judge” (Daniel 1:6-7). If you’re familiar with the history, King Nebuchadnezzar ordered his court officials to bring in Israelies from the royal family–”young men without any physical defect, handsome, showing aptitude for every kind of learning, well informed, quick to understand, and qualified to serve in the king’s palace.” Among Daniel was “Shadrach” (Shad for short), another favorite name of mine. That is his Babylonian name, meaning “inspired of Aku” (a pagan god). His original Hebrew name was Hananiah meaning “God is gracious”. In the story of Daniel, the 4 chosen Israelites had their names changed as a blatant intent to change the entire identity of the bearer until their life matched the title, such were the importance of names in ancient times and God originated the concept as when He changed Abram’s name to Abrahan. However, God’s agenda is based on Truth, while the world’s agenda is replete with deception. The world can call us what it chooses, but it cannot change who we are. These 4 men were testimonials of this fact. They were men of integrity and character. They did what was right, not what was easy. They resisted the titanic pressure of the world with resolve and God’s wisdom. Perhaps you’ll find this bit of background helpful in your selection process. Blessings to you and yours.
